Operation “COVID-19”

Now is that we have realized that COVID-19 is the worst and most powerful enemy against humanity. As per Clausewitz, the warfare expert, we should not under-estimate the enemy. At micro level, within 2 or 3 days it outnumbers our white blood cells and antibiotics. At macro level, within 30 to 45 days it outnumbers all the human capabilities combined. See the countries which underestimated it, America and Italy had to pay heavy prices. Countries like South Korea and India had estimated it correctly and inching towards victory.
We are proud of all medical fraternity, health care workers and the police for their relentless service to humanity. They are our front line soldiers, who take full risk and sacrifices. As our Prime minister has said praised them as Covid warriors but at the same time he declared this is “people’s war”.

The purpose of this article is to strengthen the idea that it is people’s war, how much a common man can acquire knowledge on this subject is the best ammunition against Covid-19. So as a common man we have to pledge our support to help with Covid warriors and government to fight against corona virus.  We have to arm each and every individual with the knowledge about the strengths and weakness of our common enemy and clear cut strategies to fight fiercely, in complete understanding of the seriousness of situation in hand.

The responsibility and commitment of common men should be no less than our front line soldiers. But terming them as front line soldiers may by wrong. Because this is not a conventional war where the enemy is attacking from one side or flanking from left and right but our enemy is highly dangerous and capable of attacking us, not just 360 degrees but 360 degree x 360 degree i.e 1,29,600 degrees (within social distance this virus, is air borne also). So it is imperative that each and every human should be trained as not just any soldier but rigorous training regimen of commando force. So we have to constantly refer and refresh with government official website and be equipped to fight ferociously and persistently to safe guard ourselves thereby, reducing the burden on our community as a whole. Our strategy is mostly defense, except on few occasions, we have to be lethal offensive when we come in direct contact with the enemy. This preparedness and vigil shall be in force until a proven vaccine is developed and deployed in the whole of universe. It would be even better, if we can adopt these, as permanent lifestyle habits, to be battle ready with future versions of Corona virus.

STAGE – I
(Prevention is better than cure)
      A.    Vastly enhance the immune system
We cannot kill all the viruses but we can proactively enhance our individual immune system not only to protect ourselves once, but also possible recurrence of the disease for the second time, as it is happening in China right now. We have to strictly follow the procedures advised by the government meticulously. Some of which are noted down.
1.    Sleep for 8 hours compulsorily (so that protective cytogeneses generates to a comfortable level)
2.    Hydration – Take as much water as much possible to flush out bad elements from the body
3.    STOP –  Smoking, alcohol consumption and sugar completely
4.    Food as Medicine
i)             Vitamin C – Fresh lemon juice, Orange fruits, grape fruits, Cabbage and Cauliflower
ii)            Zinc – Papaya and Watermelon seeds, fruits, Milk, Cheese, Egg, Nuts, Zinger, Turmeric, Garlic
iii)           Iron – Apple, Dates, Beans
iv)           Amino Acids – Sprouts and green vegetables
v)            Vitamin A - Carrots, Mango, Spinach
vi)           Vitamin D – Fatty fish, Milk, Cheese and plenty of sunlight
vii)         Vitamin E – Nuts, seeds and green Vegetables
viii)        Eat less – Reduce weight considerably
5.    Health check up – Take regular medicines for Diabetes, Hypertension, Cholesterol and all other necessary medication, as per your physician’s advice. Never miss it even for one day, remember this war zone.
6.    Regular Exercises – Minimum for 30 minutes, Yoga, strength training exercise, Dance or anything to pump up the Lymph nodes throughout the body (or any other indoor exercise one can envisage during this lock down)
7.    Pranayama – Minimum 15 minutes every day (Corona virus first affects lungs, this can avoid the use of ventilator, i.e you can pump your own oxygen effectively without waiting for your turn for ventilator in the hospital, if ever, you had to get admitted)
8.    Positive attitude – Be happy, confident and brave enough, that even if get corona virus, if we could develop enough immunity it could go without any severity at all. Even otherwise, we can get cured within 2 weeks or maximum 3 weeks. Have a common vision that by 2021, we all shall come out of this pandemic and live prosperous life again.

      B.   Strictly follow these habits
1.    Whenever you are out of home, always wear masks. In this war, our nose masks are no less than bullet proof jacket worn by commando force. Diligent caution should be taken while wearing these masks and follow the procedures advised by the government. For example, remove masks from backside and do not remove from front side or touch the mask as it would defeat the whole purpose of wearing a nose mask and it is possible that a bullet from our common enemy could pass through it.
2.    Hand wash – This is the first time, we fight offensive strategy, with the enemy and would you love to kill our enemy with your bare hands ?, here is the opportunity. Wash minimum 20 seconds every time with plenty of soap for 15 to 20 times a day or as many times as and when before we have to bring our fingers to the face.
(Don’t get tired and forgo hand washing, remember to kill and to take revenge on COVID-19, for the predicament it has left us with killing of millions of fellow human beings and affecting the economy and depleting our resources, and be victorious as a great warrior, there goes the virus in the drain! as dead cell)
3.    Never bring your fingers near your face, no nose pricking and no eyes squeezing. As we normally touch our face, unconsciously 1500 times every day, it is going to be very difficult. So, whenever you start from home or after returning and after washing hands thoroughly, wash your face gently and massage nose, eyes and whole of the face telling yourselves that “I will be vigilant and not bring my fingers near my face until next hand wash, that is the only entry point of our enemy”
4.    Travel alone in your private vehicle
5.    Avoid touching door handles, knobs, steps handles and any other public places, if you are bound to do so never forget to wash your hands and be careful not to bring your fingers close to your face until you wash hands.
6.    Never shake hands with anyone, say Nameste and maintain social distance always.
7.    During lock down stay at home. After lock down avoid crowd and public places and try to rush back to home as soon as the purpose of going out of home is completed
8.    Very important note : When you come out of home always assume everyone else you see is Corona virus positive – and approach cautiously at all times, because anyone really could be asymptomatic patient, they themselves may not  know it until after a week or more.

STAGE – II
(Suspected entry of COVID-19)

1.    Whenever suspicion surfaces in your mind, one simple and easiest test is try smelling, only if you are not able to smell, you have to be cautious further.
2.    Early symptoms – Cough,  Fever, sore throat and difficulty in breathing.
3.    Isolate yourselves from other members of family. Ask your family to leave supplies outside your room to avoid contact.
4.    Sanitize your bed linen and clothes frequently by washing and clean your bathroom with recommended sanitizers.
5.    Report  through the mobile app Aarogya setu
6.    Drink / sip a glass of hot water (hotter than lukewarm) every half an hour continuously
7.    Follow the instructions of health care professionals.

STAGE – III
(Confirmed entry of COVID-19)
1.    Once it is confirmed by health care professionals, don’t get panic, be relaxed, in India it is less than 1 % of Covid patient’s life is at risk.
2.    Strictly follow health care professional’s advice.
3.    Be confident and inspire your family members to be poised
4.    Your positive attitude should be strong enough to recover fast and reduce pressure on health care workers
5.    If you are resilient and tough enough your blood may be used for plasma therapy for other corona patients.

The enemy is using combinations of offensive, flanking and guerilla war fares, be vigilant and alert 24x7, as this is people’s war. We have to augment the government’s struggle and health care staffs’ sacrifices. Always remember, this is long drawn war, and “THE OPERATION IS NOT OVER UNTIL ZERO PATIENT ON PLANET EARTH”.
